Sugarloaf is proud to host headlining act, Deer Tick, the band that’s been both accurately and inaccurately labeled just about everything this side of Top 40. Deer Tick is true-to-form rock-n-roll. Scratch that, true-to-form is not Deer Tick’s style. Let’s start over…

Naturally, after so many years of critics praising [and making fun of] them for their “folk” and “country” sounds and hardly ever mentioning the fact that they’ve also recorded virtually dozens of other kinds of music, the band plays a live set that is (which has gained some notoriety): raw, loud, heartfelt, and completely uninterested in whatever the hell the rest of the music industry is up to.

Distorted guitars are aplenty, guitarist Ian O’Neil and drummer Dennis Ryan take lead vocal duties, man, you can practically smell the sweat and the beer! You may even see a guitar or two break somewhere within the show! 

The songs are there. The delivery is in your face. There’s no magic. There’s no hiding the fact that Deer Tick is just five regular dudes hailing from Rhode Island. This show is bound to rattle your thoughts, and it may cause you and your friends to jump around and dance, but at least it's a different sort of concert for Sugarloaf, and Maine, right?

The Adam Ezra Group, opening for Deer Tick, is one of Boston's leading acoustic rock bands. AEG is a dynamic roots/rock band whose unique mix of folk, pop and rock sound, perfectly combines Ezra's passion for smart, well written lyrics and the bands amazing musicianship. Bringing their sound together with rich, hook laden melodies, the band's energetic performance creates a buzz everywhere they play. Over the past 8 years the band has had a consistent tour schedule and sold out shows in the Northeast, while rapidly building their fan base nationwide.The band's energy on stage is becoming legendary, as Adam and the band ignite the stage with a power that has been compared to that of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
